EPL weekend

Defoe has continued his impressive start to the new season scoring the first goal for Tottenham is their 2-1 away victory over Westham United. Something tells me that he is going to get a lot of goals this season! Everton's disastrous start to the season continued after they lost 1-o to newcomers Burnley who had beaten united in mid-week. Burnley is having a tremendous start to the season and they play Chelsea next week. Arsenal has continued in fine form hitting four past Pompey who had no answers to their breathtaking attacking play. United meanwhile had the perfect response to the burnley defeat thrashing Wigan 5-0 with Owen getting his first goal this season. Rooney, Berbatov and Nani also recorded their names on the scoresheet. Will Owen continue to deliver, only time will tell. Chelsea broke down difficult Fulham with top scorer for last season Anelka soring his first goal of the season. Ancheloti continued to tinker with his team playing Malouda, Ballack and Lampad behind the two strikers. Can his rotation policy and diamond midfield be the answer to the elusive champions league trophy? Emmanuel Adebayor continues to live up to expectation for the citizens after he scored the only goal in their match against Wolves and carlos Tevez was the provider for that one. Liverpool will battle with Aston Villa tonight and it promises to be an interesting match as Villa are aiming to fight for a place among the top four this season.

  1. As far as I'm concerned its still too early in the season to decide who'd be top scorer or not. No doubt, Defoe talent as a striker has always been recognized, but i really want to see if he's goin to be able to keep it real up till the 3rd quarter of the season.
This season of course should be very interesting, with players (whose national teams hav a good chance of qualifying the world cup) wanting to put in good displays to ensure their places in their national teams.
Talking bout Man City, i would like to see how they perform against any of the big four in the EPL. No doubt, their signings over the summer (Tevez, Bayor, Santa Cruz, Barry, & Toure) are good players, but somehow, i dont think they have a balanced midfield.. I forsee, Gareth Barry being overworked this season, but let's see how it goes. If there's gonna be any threat to the big four this season i forsee it coming from Aston Villa (forget their below average start this season), Hotspurs, & MAYBE Everton.
    Let's see how it goes...
